Shepard digital media teacher Jodi Pelini proudly boasts a team of two students — sophomores Daniella Ramirez Prado and Saidah Diab — writing, recording, and editing films selected for the Student Silent Film Festival in Downers Grove.
Both projects were screened at the Tivoli Theatre in downtown DG. Students from 11 Chicago area high schools had films selected for the festival.

The Eisenhower, Richards, and Shepard BPA recently competed in their area conference. These students will advance on to the BPA State Leadership Conference February 23 – 25, 2023 in Oakbrook, Illinois. Congratulations to all!
IMST Smartforce Student Summit
Over 100 students and staff from all 218 schools attended the International Manufacturing Technology Smartforce Student Summit 2022 on Thursday, September 15th at McCormick Place. This is the largest Manufacturing Technology Show in the country and has not been held since 2018 due to the pandemic.
The Smartforce Student Summit provides the students and staff with an interactive experience to explore technology and career opportunities in Engineering Technology and Manufacturing career pathways.

Adrain Blancas signed his letter of commitment with Donson Machine on May 17, 2022. Donson is a local manufacturing company that makes precision machine medical devices and implants, focused on the Orthopedic Industry. Adrian has full time job with benefits at Donson. Congratulations to Adrian!
Manufacturing Skills and Training Bootcamp
The Calumet Area Industrial Commission (CAIC) and CHSD 218 partnered to offer a free Manufacturing Skills and Training Bootcamp for high school graduates and community members. The event took place at Shepard High School – June 13 to July 14th. Click here for pictures.
Congratulations Shepard High School TV Studio!
The Shepard TV Studio took home the top prize at the 2022 South Suburban College Competition for High School Videos. They earned the SSC 2022 Regional Award of Distinction, given to the top studio in the region.
In addition, Shepard senior Elizabeth Lappano was one of only 2 students in the country chosen to win the Lucas Palermo scholarship, given to a student with a promising future career in film & television.

Moraine Valley Community College and MACS hosted its annual High School Welding Skills Competition at Evergreen Park Community High School D231. 9 students from Argo HS and 9 students from Evergreen Park HS participated.
