Thank you to OAI,Inc for coordinating their annual Manufacturing Day for our high school students on Wednesday, October 4, 2023. This event was designed to improve students’ knowledge and perception of the manufacturing industry and to generate an interest within our youth to pursue careers in manufacturing.
A special thank you to the businesses that sponsored our students – Meyer Tool and Manufacturing, National Tube Supply, Ozinga, Morrison Container Handling Solutions, Chicago Magnesium Casting Company, Donson Machine, Ability Engineering Technology Inc, Kocsis USA, and Fabricated Products Group. Each company provided a tour of their facilities, including production, quality control, human resources, and engineering.
After the morning company tours, students completed their day at Moraine Valley Community College where faculty members provided information about the educational career pathway opportunities available in manufacturing.
Over 140 students from Districts 218, 220, 229, 230, and 231 participated in this event, with teachers and students providing exceptional feedback on their experience. Thank you to everyone who made this event a success!
